Information

The Enabling Technologies Consortium (ETC) is committed to advancing pharmaceutical development through strategic collaborations that drive innovation across the industry. Serving as a pre-competitive platform, ETC fosters partnerships between companies, academia, and vendors to accelerate the development of cutting-edge solutions for complex scientific challenges. By bridging technology gaps, ETC aims to elevate facilitate innovation within the pharmaceutical sciences.

This session will showcase the impact recent collaborations that epitomize a progressive push towards innovation in pharma:

1. LC VUV Universal Detector Project (VUV Analytics - Dale Harrison): This project demonstrates VUV spectroscopy’s universal detection capabilities, improving compound characterization and streamlining workflows
2. Data Curation Workbench Project (Varya Virtual - Andrew Ferry): Addressing one of the most significant challenges in pharma, data management, this initiative leverages AI for efficient data curation, enabling predictive modeling for drug discovery
3. Photochemistry Reactor Project (University of Nottingham - Michael George): This project utilizes advanced photochemistry for synthesis improvement, optimizing reactions and expanding possibilities in drug design—an exemplary academia-industry collaboration fostering long-term innovation
4. HT LNP Synthesis / Microfluidic Projects (eN-RAMPS/UIC - Meenesh Singh): Using high-throughput microfluidics, this project transforms lipid nanoparticle synthesis, vital for novel drug delivery systems

Attendees will gain insights into the collaborative efforts that have expedited technology commercialization. The ETC is committed to building impactful partnerships, reflected in the commercial success of Shimadzu’s Semi-Prep SFC instrument following its introduction at our 2018 session. By facilitating dialogue among academia, industry leaders, and innovators, this session promises to engage the broader scientific community.
