Information
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) has long been a cornerstone in analytical chemistry, providing unparalleled precision and reliability in the separation and analysis of complex mixtures. However, traditional HPLC systems often face challenges related to space constraints and operational efficiency, particularly in modern laboratory environments. This talk will explore the innovative strides made in the development of compact HPLC systems, spearheaded by the collaborative efforts of the Enabling Technology Consortium (ETC).
The ETC, comprising leading pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, has partnered with Axcend to create a next-generation, compact HPLC system designed to meet the evolving needs of process development laboratories. This collaboration has resulted in a portable, capillary-based HPLC system that can be seamlessly integrated into confined spaces such as fume hoods, enabling “on-demand” operation with minimal dead volume and rapid equilibration.
Key highlights of the talk will include:
• Technological Innovations: An overview of the compact HPLC system’s design, featuring small volume components and advanced automation capabilities.
• Collaborative Development: Insights into the collaborative process between ETC members and Axcend, emphasizing the shared expertise and resources that drove the project’s success.
• Applications and Benefits: Real-world applications of the compact HPLC system in pharmaceutical discovery, development, and quality control, showcasing its impact on efficiency and data integrity.
• Future Directions: A discussion on the future potential of compact HPLC technology and ongoing projects within the ETC aimed at further enhancing analytical methodologies.
