Information

The Enabling Technologies Consortium (ETC) serves as a platform to foster innovation within the pharmaceutical industry and the broader scientific community. It provides a pre-competitive framework for collaboration among innovative novel pharmaceutical companies, granting the means to accelerate and enable solutions to broad scientific challenges. ETC is dedicated to bridging technology gaps by collaborating closely with external technology development companies, vendors, and academic research institutions. This session will highlight the impact of these collaborations by showcasing projects from various ETC working group focus areas, including novel chemistry reaction environments, analytical instrumentation, and purification. Ongoing dialogue between ETC and the scientific community will enhance future partnerships with third-party vendors, academia, and leaders in pharma, as well as expedite the commercialization of new enabling technologies.

We are continuously seeking partnerships for collaboration, and we feel that Pittcon serves as an ideal platform for this interaction. This session will emphasize the impact of ETC’s recent collaborations on analytical and pharmaceutical methodologies, while highlighting the experience collaborating with ETC from the viewpoint of our collaborators. A similar, well-attended session from the ETC member perspective, featuring speakers from AstraZeneca, GSK, Merck, and Pfizer, was organized at Pittcon 2018. During that session, one of our first ETC projects to develop a semi-prep supercritical fluid chromatography was presented. The resulting commercial instrument was debuted by Shimadzu Scientific Instruments where it was awarded the Gold Excellence Award. Shimadzu state that “Shimadzu’s Semi-Prep SFC is the fruit of a collaborative effort by pharma and private industry, serving as the model for future impactful product design.” ETC couldn’t agree more and Pittcon is the perfect venue to engage with the scientific community.
