Information
Near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy has become a cornerstone of modern analytical science, offering rapid, non-destructive, and cost-effective analysis with the ability to extract comprehensive information from a single measurement. Its advantages over traditional methods have led to widespread adoption across sectors—from agriculture and food to pharmaceuticals, forensics, and environmental monitoring—where it serves as a key tool for quality control, monitoring, and on-site decision-making.
While the foundations of NIR spectroscopy are well established, the field continues to evolve rapidly. Advances in sensor miniaturization and portable instrumentation are enabling new levels of accessibility and field deployment. Simultaneously, progress in chemometrics and machine learning is reshaping how spectral data is interpreted, with growing attention to model transparency, robustness, and domain-specific AI solutions tailored for NIR data. These innovations are leading to new applications and improved performance across the board.
This session will bring together leading researchers, technologists, and practitioners to present the latest innovations and applications in NIR spectroscopy. Topics will range from hardware and algorithm development, through data science and chemometrics, to industrial implementation and real-world impact. Attendees from both academia and industry will gain valuable insights into where the field is headed—and how they can leverage its transformative potential.
