Information
This organized session details the entire workflow, from sample preparation through analysis, for the determination of environmental contaminants such as heavy metals in seafood and related food products, as well as an overview of sample prep for PFAS analysis. Rapid, efficient, and safe analytical solutions with a specific focus on applicable, challenging matrices relevant to the region will be presented for both. Seafood is of particular interest as it may absorb environmental contaminates from both the water and sediment. Furthermore, the high lipids content in certain seafood can present difficulties when working with these matrices. Increasingly stringent regulations are driving interest in environmental contaminants like PFAS and heavy metals as action limits continue to decrease. Ensuring an efficient methodology that delivers accurate results exists across the entire workflow is vital when determining these contaminants. In this session, CEM Corporation, Glass Expansion, and Inorganic Ventures will collaborate to present new technologies addressing the growing issue of environmental contamination.
