A 40 Year Spectroscopy Hardware Journey

My world is start-ups, and start-ups are always a journey. I will describe some of my journeys, the things I learned, and some of the people I met along the way. I will delve into some of my earliest experiences with even some successes. FT-IR microscopes figured heavily in this journey and I will look back at the world of infrared spectroscopy instrumentation in 1983 when there were already FT-IR spectrometers but not yet any commercial FT-IR Microscopes. For me the journey began in Stamford, Connecticut and right here in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
