Information
Current cancer diagnostic techniques often lack the sensitivity, specificity, and consistency needed for early detection and prognosis. Our research introduces an advanced automated flow system that integrates microfluidic chips, imaging, and analysis techniques for analyzing patient samples from biofluids such as Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA), Pleural Effusion (PE), and Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF). This system also provides prognostic information and incorporates CytoPAN technology for a portable imaging solution. CytoPAN technology was integrated to enable a portable imaging system, facilitating on-site diagnostics. The entire process is automated to minimize human error and ensure consistent results across different samples and individuals. Our automated flow system demonstrated exceptional performance in isolating and identifying cancer cells from FNA, PE, and CSF samples, significantly outperforming traditional methods. The integration of high-throughput imaging and automated data analysis provided rapid and precise cancer cell detection with high specificity and sensitivity. Additionally, the system's automated nature ensures consistent and reliable results, reducing inter-individual variability. The integration of CytoPAN technology into our automated flow system offers a portable and efficient solution for early cancer diagnosis and prognosis in medical resource-limited locations. This study demonstrates the potential of our integrated and automated flow system in revolutionizing cancer diagnostics and prognostics. Future research will focus on further optimizing the system design and expanding its application to a broader range of cancers.
