Dr. Stephen Dal Nogare provided numerous insights and innovation in various types of gas chromatographies. In this presentation, I will highlight the work my graduate students. They have provided insights and innovations in separation science that range from interesting sample preparative media, to the development of the technique of enhanced-fluidity liquid chromatography. Furthermore, unique carbon stationary phases and sample preparation media were developed using methods that defines order in the 3-D carbon material, and recent innovations in mass spectrometry including both surface assisted laser desorption mass spectrometry as well as electrospray ionization. Their quests to fortify our fundamental understanding of separation science and the mechanisms of specific detection methods for these separation devices have led to some very interesting discoveries and applications. This talk with provide highlights of some of the most innovative and impactful discoveries made by this team of outstanding scientists.
